Tourist Spots and Things To Do in Cebu City Within City Center
The famous tourist attractions and historical sites in Cebu City in Cebu Province are a walking distance away from each other and are just situated in the city center, the rest are on distant barangays.
1. BASILICA DEL SANTO NIÑO
The Basilica del Santo Niño was founded in 1565. The bell tower was badly damaged in October 2013 when Cebu was hit by a strong earthquake. The site is very crowded during Fridays (the day of devotion) and most especially on Sinulog week.

2. MAGELLAN'S CROSS
Magellan's Cross is the cross planted by the Spanish and Portuguese explorers upon the order of Ferdinand Magellan when they arrived in Cebu on March 15, 1521 (depending on source). The cross is situated very near the entrance/exit of Basilica del Santo Niño. Street vendors will approach you to sell souvenir items. If you want, you can also visit the nearby Islands Souvenirs shop (a very famous souvenir store in Cebu) which is just within the vicinity.

3. CEBU CITY HALL
The Cebu City Hall is also a walking distance to and from Basilica del Sto Niño, just in front of Magellan's Cross.
If you are hungry, you can have your fill at Mang Inasal, McDonalds and Lechon Belly, just a walking distance from the aforementioned historical sites. You can also walk towards Plaza Independencia where you can find several restaurants there, KKD STK + BBQ and Bodol Sa Nigo are just some of those.
If you are running out of cash, ATM machines are conveniently located nearby, check out BPI (attached to the Sto Niño Pilgrim Center building) or Bank of Commerce near McDonalds in front of Magellan's Cross. China Bank and Metrobank ATM machines are also a close walking distance.
Want to stay nearby? Nearest hotel is Sampaguita Suites Plaza Garcia. There are also shopping centers within the vicinity such as Prince City Hall and La Nueva.

4. CEBU METROPOLITAN CATHEDRAL
Another historical site that is just a walking distance from Basilica del Sto Niño is the cathedral which was founded in 1836. To go there, exit from the other side of the Basilica, the one where you see Chowking or Jollibee upon your exit. Beside Chowking, there's a small street - use that street and walk straight (short distance) then cross to the other side and use the gate that you saw upon crossing.

5. CEBU PLAZA INDEPENDENCIA
This is where you can just relax and unwind. You can use this place as your transient waiting area, especially if you want to go to Bohol or any destinations that use Pier 1 as point of origin, Pier 1 is just a walking distance. Find ticketing outlets going to and from Bohol here or here.

6. FORT SAN PEDRO
Very close to Plaza Independencia is Fort San Pedro. This is the only site that you need to pay for an entrance fee which is very minimal - Php30 as regular entrance; senior citizen - Php24; student (bring ID) Php20. Inside the fort, there is a wishing well there called Pozo de la Virgen where the image of the virgin was found floating. You might want to say your prayer there and ask for an intercession from Nuestra Señora de la Cotta (if you are Catholic).

7. MALACAÑANG SA SUGBO
This is just a walking distance and a view away from Plaza Independencia and Fort San Pedro. It is the official residence of the President of the Philippines in the Visayas. It was previously named as Aduana (customs). Looks like this place has been abandoned.

HOW TO GO TO THE TOURIST ATTRACTIONS IN CEBU CITY:
From Mactan Cebu International Airport or from the place where you stay at, hire a taxi and tell the driver to drop you off at Basilica del Santo Niño and you can begin your tour from there, the rest on the list above are just a walking distance to and from the basilica.
