As the name suggests, West 35 Eco Mountain Resort is situated at KM 35 in the western part of Cebu. It sits in the mountain ranges of Barangay Gaas in the town of Balamban, a 1st class municipality in the province of Cebu. Travel time from JY Square Mall to West 35 is 1 hour or less. THE QUOTABLE QUOTES

Being a fan of quotes, I immediately noticed them upon entering the resort. What caught my attention is this "Leave nothing but footprints, take nothing but pictures, kill nothing but time". My mother has the easiest translation to this in Cebuano, "sakay kanaug sa jeepney stop" (hahaha). Seriously though, it denotes that you leave no trace when you get there. There are several other quotes that you may find inspiring while roaming around the property.

ACTIVITIES

The mountain resort is one of the most popular attractions in the western part of Cebu province and is famous among local tourists. In West 35, you can do obstacle courses, ziplining, trekking and do a 360 degrees sightseeing (the municipality of Balamban) via the viewing deck.

If you intend to stay for a night or 2, you can stay at their villa and if you should ever get hungry, they have a cafe there just beneath the viewing deck.

HOW TO GO TO WEST 35

Option 1: Per West 35 Facebook page - GT Express

Go to Ayala Park GT Express Terminal bound for Balamban
Citilink GT Express Terminal bound for Balamban via Transcentral Hi-way

I have not tried this. You may ask the driver if it will drop you off at the resort or along the road. If it is along the road, please add to your expectation to trek your way to the resort.

Option 2: Via private vehicle or taxi

In any point in Cebu, hire a taxi and tell the driver to bring you to West 35. Most taxi drivers are familiar with the place but I suggest, hire the one who had been there. You know you're in the right direction when you pass by Marco Polo Plaza and you know you are nearer when you pass by the "Welcome to Balamban" signage. The place is in Barangay Gaas, Balamban, Cebu and is along the road. If you use your vehicle with you, from JY Square Mall, use the road heading to Marco Polo Plaza and download the Waze app to navigate your way there or see the map below for direction.

Option 3: Via motorbike (habal-habal)

You can either rent a motorbike or charter a habal habal (motorbike) from JY Square Mall in Lahug. Tell the driver to bring you to West 35. Most of them should be familiar with the place but go with the one who had been there.
