Have you been to Sirao?
RELAXING UNDER THE SHADES OF THE OLD TREES
Last November 1st, we traversed to Sirao after visiting our relatives' grave in Guba (a neighboring barangay). It is our second time to visit Sirao and this time, we did not go to the flower farms, our nephew brought us to a relaxing place just 1 to 2 minutes away from the popular tourist spot.

The site is such a nice getaway from the hussle and bussle of the city, to relax, unwind and enjoy the blow of fresh air. Some pre-nup pictorials are done there and with the view and the cool breeze, it's no wonder.
We picnicked under the shades of the old trees. Our lunch included a viand called "uskan" (lol) or "head of goat" meat.
Option 1: Take a jeepney bound for Talamban or Pit-os (13C, 13B, 62C, 62B) then disembark at Metrobank Talamban or San Jose Bakeshop. Then hire a "habal habal" (motorbike) then tell the driver to drop you off in Sirao. Remember this is 1 to 2 minutes away from Sirao flower farms. Look to your left side after passing by the Sirao flower farms. If you want you can visit Sirao flower farms first then just take a walk to the relaxing place above.
Fare from Talamban to Sirao could range from 200 to 300 pesos back and forth. Two hundred pesos being a reasonable price and three hundred pesos being a generous price. Haggle if you must.
Sirao is a far flung mountainous barangay in Cebu City and is famous for its flower farms but did you know that you can do other things aside from visiting the flower gardens?

Roaming around the surroundings,
I noticed traces of trashes signifying that there are quite a number of people who went there ahead of us, my nephew and his family and friends included.

After we had our fill, we hike our way up to the mountain.
TREKKING AT SIRAO MOUNTAIN
So, our nephew invited us to trek to the mountain and glad I was up for the challenge at that time. As you can see I am not a mountaineer myself and the last time I climbed a mountain was several years ago at OsmeƱa Peak, so I forgot how tiring could trekking be but glad the adventurous side of me said yes. Mind you, you will never know how capable you are until you give it a try.
The path on our way up was a little slippery. You have to be careful not to slip. My nephew told me (which mountaineers would agree) that the stone marked orange (not necessarily orange I guess but orange is more visible) or the ribbon tied on a branch of a tree signifies that you are on the right path. So as we climb further, we found several indicators that we are on the right path. And...

CAMPING
You can camp at the foot of the mountain or at the top (there is quite a space there enough to accommodate at least 4 large tents or more for smaller tents).
We did not take the same path as we did on our way up when we went down, we tried another path which is so grassy, grassy enough to hug us while we're walking, so it is best to wear arm sleeves (we did not wear any) to protect your skin, this is if
you want to go this route, otherwise take the same path as you did when you went up especially if you go there on a dry season (February to May)
