INGREDIENTS
1 can sardines
2 potatoes
1 small onion
1 spring onion
2 cloves garlic
bread crumbs (100 grams will do)
2 eggs
2 to 3 tablespoons of flour
a pinch of salt
a pinch of black pepper
a pinch of white pepper
a pinch of chili powder (optional)
a drop of oyster sauce (optional)
a drop of oyster sauce (optional)
- Boil the potatoes until they become soft then let them cool down for a few minutes.
- Cut the onion, garlic and spring onion into small pieces
- Open the can of sardines and separate the sauce
- Go back to the potatoes, they should be cooler by now. Mash them and combine all the ingredients, the mashed potatoes, the cut onions, garlic and the sardines (excluding the sauce)
- Add 1 piece of egg and 2 to 3 tablespoons of flour to bind all the ingredients together.
- Add a pinch of salt, a pinch of white pepper, a pinch of black pepper and a pinch of chili powder (optional)
- Then mix all the ingredients together, preferably with your hands (so wash your hands thoroughly before mixing the ingredients). Set it aside.
- Beat another piece of egg in a bowl
- Pour the bread crumbs in a plate
- From the already mixed ingredients, form a small ball according to your desired size then roll it over on the beaten egg and afterwards roll it over on the breadcrumbs. (I made 17 pieces of meatballs)
- Deep fry the meatballs and that's it, your breaded sardines meatballs are ready to serve!
- Happy eating!
This is when all the ingredients are all mixed together and rolled into a beaten egg and breadcrumbs, ready for deep frying |
