Singapore - 8 Days Adventure with the Kids

Eight Days Adventure in Singapore

Singapore as you all know is an island state country in Southeast Asia and is one of the most progressive countries in the region and one of the most expensive cities in the world. In August of 2008, I visited Singapore and it was my first ever out of the country trip and last May of 2016, me together with my older sister and my younger sister (with her kids) went back to Singapore to visit my younger sister's husband who used to work there.

Prior to our departure, the sister of my sister's husband had arranged for our accommodation at Holiday Flats in Pasir Ris for 3 days. When we reached there, we were not able to enter in as we arrived there after check in time which was around 7:00pm to 8:00pm. You can just imagine how tired we were then carrying our luggages especially my younger sister who carried with her a one-month-worth of luggage for her and for her kids. Luckily for us, we had our brother's-in-law sister to accommodate us on our first night at her place in Changi. Thanks Sher for the accommodation! We were then able to stay at Holiday Flats on the next day and the kids had fun time playing at the park nearby (pictures above).

CAMPING & BBQ PARTY!
On the 3rd day, we went camping at the park (the sister of my brother-in-law secured a permit for us)  but sadly as we were all set up, rain started to pour down forcing us to leave the place and pack our things and move back to the place where we have just checked out (ironic, don't you think?), so my brother's-in-law sister rented a place for us for our then fun-filled barbecue party! (Thank you Sher for the bbq treat and for the accommodation and thanks too to my bro-in-law for accommodating us while we're in Singapore)

Since Day 1, we had been roaming around Singapore with the kids and it was quite challenging having them around but it was very fun and fulfilling bonding with them in a foreign country.

HOW TO GO TO SINGAPORE
As Singapore is one of the most progressive countries in the world, I believe most of the countries have a direct flight going there and vice versa. For some other countries, you can book a connecting flight from your country's capital city.

GETTING AROUND
Singapore is a very systematic country especially when it comes to transportation, you can go from point A to point B with little to no confusion. Their transport system is amazingly systematic. All you need to do is to secure an EZ-link card available at every MRT stations. I hope I remember it quite correctly but I think the initial load is 10 Singaporean dollars (S$10). Good thing about this card is that it can be used as a fare in buses, MRT and LRT.
