Sinulog: One Beat, One Dance, One Vision!

Sinulog Festival - Cebu, Philippines

Sinulog is an annual event held every 3rd Sunday of January here in Cebu City, Philippines, in honor of  Señor Santo Niño (child Jesus). If you haven't visited Cebu, I recommend you witness this momentous event. This is the most popular festival here in the province of Cebu and one of the most celebrated events in the Philippines. The capital city of Cebu is flocked with tourists from all over the world including local tourists. Some fellow countrymen, Cebuanos in particular go home at this time of the year to witness the festivity. (Find cheaper Cebu accommodations here or find places to stay in Cebu, Philippines) As you already knew, the Philippines is predominantly Catholic but even if you are from another religion, you can still enjoy this event because this isn't only spiritual, there is a cultural side of this, the Sinulog dance competition where contingents from Cebu and other provinces in the Philippines vie for a significant amount …

Phnom Pehn, Cambodia!

Phnom Pehn is the second leg of our Indochina trip. We arrived there by bus from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Phnom Pehn is the capital city of Cambodia and according to Wikipedia, it is the most populous city in the country and it was once known as the "Pearl of Asia", being considered as one of the loveliest French-built cities in Indochina. Phnom Pehn, just like Siem Reap, is also one of the most famous destinations in Southeast Asia. Most Cambodians understand and speak English. HOW TO GET THERE
BY AIR As Phnom Pehn is one of most popular destinations in the world, most major airlines have a direct flight to and from the city. If your city of origin does not have a direct flight to and from Phnom Pehn, try a connecting flight via your country's capital city. Try these airlines, Cambodia Airlines, Vietnam AirlinesCebu Pacific, Philippine Airlines, Air Asia, Jetstar AsiaThai Airways, Singapore Airlines, Malaysia AirlinesGaruda Indonesia, Japan Airlines, ANA, etc.

Bangkok, Thailand!

Have you been to Bangkok, Thailand? Bangkok was the last leg of our Indochina trip. When we arrived there, most people were still mourning for the death of their king, King Bhumibol Adulyadej, and I believe they still are, up to this writing. Their king is highly revered by locals. When we were there we saw so many people dressed in black, some of them are from other places in Thailand, to pay their last respects for the king.
Bangkok is the capital city of Thailand and is one of the most famous destinations in the world. Bangkok is home to many multinational companies and Thailand is best known for its delicious (spicy) food. Aside from being known notoriously for its red light districts, Bangkok, in contrast is also known for its Buddhist temples.

Exploring Bohol in One Day

Bohol Day Tour

Find Cheaper Places to Stay in Bohol
Bohol is one of the provinces in the Philippines and is home to the world's smallest monkey, the tarsier and is one of the best places to go to for beach lovers as Bohol has some of the best beaches in the Philippines. With pristine white sand beaches, Panglao Island is one of the many places in Bohol that you don't want to miss.

Bohol is also best known for its very famous tourist attraction, the Chocolate Hills, somewhat like their landmark. As the name suggests, it is called Chocolate Hills because during the dry season, the hills turned into chocolate brown.

There are several places (check out my list below) to see and do in Bohol and you can do it in one day if you have a limited time of stay here in the Philippines. Majority of tourists almost always include Bohol when they visit Cebu as it is just 2 hours away by boat (if using Supercat or Oceanjet).
FESTIVAL Bohol is best known for the many fiestas happening in May but the…
